You can prepare low acid coffee from whichever coffee brand you like. The trick lies in brewing. It's the method of cold brewing that reduces the acid levels in the coffee by half. To prepare your own coffee, take a cup of coffee grounds in a bowl, add quarter cup water and gently stir the mixture till all the grounds are moist. Once all the grounds have dampened, add another 1 cup of water into the bowl. Do not disturb the contents in the bowl by shaking or mixing. Cover it with a lid and allow the contents to remain still for the next 12 hours. Strain this coffee twice through medium sieve and fine sieve. You can now prepare your hot or iced coffee with this extract.
Coffee has more fibers and antioxidants than orange juice. Nutritionists always tell us that we need fibers in order to be healthy and that antioxidants help us remain young and free from diseases. And in this respect, some Spanish experts proved that coffee does indeed contain a high level of antioxidants and fibers, and therefore it is very good for us. In fact, they have discovered that one cup of black coffee has a higher level of polyphenols and fibers than any other drink in the world. Also, coffee helps us keep our lips moisturized, especially cappuccino does have this effect. A short time after ingesting about 150grams of cappuccino, the salivary secretion is being stimulated and also the functions of speaking and diction are improved.
It is also believed that the longer the flavored beans are allowed to sit, the stronger is the flavor. Some people use ceramic containers for storing these beans as it is said that the beans remain fresh in such containers.
Experiments conducted on mice indicate that, those given water with coffee perform much better than those given only water, when tested for memory. It was found, that coffee helps counter the production of ABeta, thus helping in delaying Alzheimer's. An unidentified component of coffee (other than the main components, quinine and caffeine), is the reason for this. And research is on to find which component exactly is responsible. So, although this is seems like a contradiction of sorts, the deal is that, coffee helps us stay awake, but without aiding the build up of the protein ABeta. Coffee guards us against the harmful effects of this protein, by activating the detoxification pathways in our system.
