♦ When making espresso, nearly boiling water under a pressure of up to 15 atmospheres is pushed through finely compressed coffee beans. It is brewed for less than half a minute and a dark brown thick liquid is then separated from ground beans. The thick liquid when poured in a container, has a small amount of froth on top.
Grind coffee beans until its coarse before you put it in the press. If you choose fine coffee, you will realize that the coffee will not be stopped by the filter.
There is a fine skin that detaches from the bean once your roast it. This skin is called chaff. The problem with chaff is that, if you do not employ ways to collect and contain it, you may end up cleaning the entire place.
It is weaker than espresso but stronger than regular American coffee. It is a drink in which espresso is added to hot water and served in a large cup or glass.
